Tips for sick kids
by lina
Not every ailment is a trip to the emergency room, but that doesn’t mean that your child doesn’t think that his or her aliment is the worse thing on the face of the Earth.
Set up a “sick” area for your child. Gather up blankets, pillows, stuffed animals and anything else that makes them feel comfortable and create a spot in your home just for them. Make is feel special, so that even though they feel sick, they are comfortable.
Allow them to get rest. Limit TV, radio and other noise so that you sick one can get the rest they need to get better.
Find a good sick treat. Some kids like soup, others like a cool treat. Home made freezer pops made out of Pedialyte or Kool-Aide are a great treat for a child with a fever.
Always give them the attention that they are asking for. Slow down your schedule so that you can spend time with your little one. The child that may not like reading when they are healthy may want you to read a book or cuddle for awhile to make them feel loved.
