And you as parents need to act as a backbone and support them throughout. You should definitely help children with their homework.

In the process of helping children with their homework, most of the parents do a blunder. They themselves do the homework for their kids. As parents, our basic aim should be to help kids in understand how to do homework.

You should help in understanding the instructions and guide them in throughout. Tell them the process of completing their homework. You should guide them how to answer the questions. In order to motivate them to complete the homework, offer kids with prize.

Also help children learn their subjects. You can talk to them about the subject and topic and discuss with them about it. It would help children in understanding the subject properly and giving the correct answers. By doing this, you can help children with their homework.

Should you punish your child for lying or not has become a very concerning issue among parents? While deciding about punishment, parents should take into consideration whether your child lies occasionally or is it his habit. You should define punishments for levels of lying. In addition, as a parent, you need to decide a punishment depending on whether its first time lying or not.

But, you can always avoid the situation where you will need to punish your child for lying. You should talk to you child regularly about honesty. As parents, you need to tell to be honest in their life, home, school and friendship.

Often, children think that lies and stories are the same thing. Explain to them the difference between story, lie and tall tail. In addition, tell them that lies hurt people.

In order to teach them the lesson of honesty, tell me true stories and let them know the punishments set for lying.

If they still lie to you then you must punish them. But take age of child into consideration before you decide the punishment. Punish the child in such a way that he understands the importance of telling truth in life.

Stopping teenagers to get between the age of 15-19 is one of the main agendas of associations dealing with the teenagers. But, as a parent, how to deal with teen pregnancy is a bigger issue. Let’s have a look at few things you can do to cope with the situation:

Visit a doctor: Don’t hide your child at home. Take your girl to the doctor for proper check up in order to deal with teen pregnancy. Doctor would definitely keep it confidential and help you choose the best option for an ectopic case.

Take a mutual decision: Don’t force your decision on your child or doctor. Dealing with teen pregnancy can be very tedious. Take a mutual decision whether it is to raise the baby, give it for adoption or terminate the pregnancy.

Take counseling: Instead of screaming and blaming your child, go for counseling with trained counselors. It will help in getting in touch with your values and rightfully, dealing with teen pregnancy.

For this reason, it would be advisable that your child has the relevant immunisations to protect them from the threat of serious infections such as Meningitis and Polio.

There are many diseases that can be prevented through vaccinations. When your baby is a few months old, he can be a polio vaccination, DTP-Hib vaccination and a meningitis C vaccination. The polio vaccine is taken orally as drops, whereas the other two are given through injections in either the thing or the buttocks.

The MMR vaccine will protect your child against measles, mumps and rubella. MMR is given to your child as one single vaccination typically between the ages of one year up to eighteen months. DTP-Hib is a vaccine that protects your child against meningitis and septicaemia. It is recommended that you visit your doctor to discuss all of the available vaccinations.

Learning is one of the most important things for young children and babies; everything comes naturally to them at this age. Learning is fun for toddlers, as they are already beginning to explore and learn about their environment. A young child will often find it much easier to learn and retain new things than an older child or adult, so this is a great age to start teaching your kid basic math and reading skills.

Children should be taught in a fun and enjoyable way; often they cannot distinguish between learning and playing. If they get bored, then you can stop the session and do it another time. There are many learning games available to children of all ages, and these are a great way to keep kids occupied as well as teaching them new things.

Reading to your baby and toddler is another important skill, as the child will begin to distinguish between words and tones. You can also encourage your child to look at the pictures and learn what things are as you read the book to them. This can provide a great basis for language lessons and distinguishing between objects.

Getting a good night sleep is important for both parents and children; being an important factor in our psychological well-being. Young children often try to avoid sleep which is mainly due to their natural curiosity and the thought of missing something of importance. The amount of sleep that a child needs varies and is often up to the individual. Good sleeping patterns will however help your child to get into a good routine, and enable the entire family to sleep better.

A new born baby will typically sleep between sixteen and nineteen hours a day often waking up if they are hungry. Some newborns will sleep for no longer than five hours straight, but others will go through an entire night without waking up. As your baby grows older, they will typically sleep a little less, anywhere from twelve to fifteen hours a day.

If your child looks well-rested and happy; you can assume that they are sleeping enough. Children will often do anything to avoid sleep however, so you will want to establish a bedtime routine. You can do this by keeping noise levels down as bed time approaches, and keeping excitement to a minimum.

The world of internet has a lot of good things to offer kids. It is easier for them to do research. They can have online classes on different subjects. They can learn about a new craft. They can play games by themselves or with their friends. They can send and receive emails from their teachers and other family members.

There are a lot of benefits for the kid’s use of internet. But the internet can also pose some problems because they can access websites which may be pornographic in nature or they can be contacted by people who may be considered as belonging to the bad elements of the society. They can become vulnerable to abuse.

Parents should be aware of how their kids use the internet. They can install softwares or programs which can protect their children from accidentally or intentionally entering websites which may become potential sources of abuse or which may expose them to a world of perversion.

Internet safety for kids should be given importance. Educate your kids about it but first as parents, internet safety education should start with them.

A person’s smile can light up a room and the same goes with the smiles of the kids.В Your child’s teeth will be one of the things that will be noticed immediately when he smiles. The condition of his teeth will be largely dependent on how he takes care of it.

Dental hygiene should be done as soon as he has his first tooth. You can wipe his gums with a soft dampened cloth then later on with a soft kiddies’ toothbrush. When he reaches pre-school age then you can teach him to brush his teeth using fluoride toothpaste. Make sure that you only place a very small amount of toothpaste since it might be swallowed by your child which might result to stain on the tooth.

Visits to the dentist should also be started as early as possible preferably just after his first birthday. This will help the dentist diagnose early dental problems and enable him to treat it immediately. At the same time, interaction with dentists at an earlier stage in life will help your child become more comfortable with dental personnel.

Caring for the dental health of your child is tantamount to lighting up your world with a smile.

Many parents are facing a dilemma regarding the discipline of their children. In the olden times, corporal punishment was enforced in order to discipline wayward kids. That may not be the best recourse but nevertheless such methods are not allowed anymore. Kids nowadays are very much aware of their rights and most of them will have no qualms in reporting any perceived maltreatment experienced.

An often asked question is how to effectively discipline a child. Disciplining a child can be a challenge and there are several factors which need to be considered. Corporal punishment is out unless one would like to be reported for child abuse.

A parent should take into consideration the nature of the child. Each one is different from another thus, the method should also consider these individual differences. There are some kids who respond better with rewards while others need something drastic such as suspension of some privileges. Make sure though that whether the parent rewards or punishes the child, the focus would have to be on the action or the behaviour not the person which is in this case, the child.

The next thing is to be consistent. The child needs to know which is right and wrong and which actions are acceptable and not. These can be affirmed by being consistent. An action like hitting another child should always be considered wrong whatever the reason for such might be. That way the child will not be confused.

With those simple tips, hopefully the challenges of child discipline can be managed.

It is a season of giving and sharing and getting invited to parties. Giving gifts and sharing foods with your relatives and friends are but natural. But do you realize that you got to earn a good reputation as a party guest before you could expect the flood of invitations to your mailbox and inbox?

Here are some suggestions on how to behave nice and good as a guest:

1. Always bring a token gift for the party host. You can bring a bottle of cheap wine, or a box of mint candies or chocolates. You can also be as extravagant as you like and bring a whole roasted turkey or a large cake.

2. Do not bring an extra baggage when not indicated in the invitation. Your friends know that you’re a couple but there must be a reason why your mate should not be invited. And that goes for the kids, too.

3. Drink moderately. You know your alcohol limit so you must be the one controlling the shots. Otherwise, your host will be obliged to get you a taxi and pay for your fare home.

4. Eat moderately. Chew your food slowly so that you’ll avoid gobbling down plate after plate of party foods. Have your dinner at home before going to the party, especially if it was a cocktail one.

5. Take a bath in soap and water–not in heavy perfume. Some of the guests may be sensitive to strong scents. Just a few dabs of light-smelling perfume here and there should make you feel fresh all night. You can go heavy with gargling on minty mouthwash instead.

6. Never act as a wet blanket. When you’re not feeling well or just not in the mood to party, call your host and apologize for not being present. If you forced yourself to attend, you might rub off bad mood to other guests and ruin their evening, too.

7. Enjoy the party. Put your celfone in silent mode and talk with your fellow guests with enthusiasm. Circulate around to meet old friends and make new friends. Talking or texting on your phone while in front of other guests is rude.

8. Get interested to be interesting. People like to listen to other people’s story and they love to talk about themselves, too. If you asked questions about the other guests and show interest on listening, they would love to ask questions about you, too. However, avoid prolonged discussions on hot topics like politics, religion, health, and economy.

This is what most mothers tell their teenaged kids, no matter what country they come from. Mothers know best, but do mothers really know correct acne prevention? How does lack of sleep cause acne?

Sleep deprivation is not a direct cause of acne–but it definitely affects acne. If you had enough sleep, your pimple may be banished because you’ll be getting all the healthy benefits of having a good rest. Because sleep is one of the important things that your body needs.

Observe that when you’re not having quality sleep, like sleeping for 5 to 6 hours only but waking up relaxed and refreshed rather than tired even after sleeping for up to 10 hours, your skin would appear blotched and reddish in spots. If you had acne, they will look inflamed. Sleep deprivation also increases resistance to insulin, which could lead to diabetes. This condition could get the inflammation of acne worse.

Another direct effect of sleep deficit is obesity. Lack of sleep causes increase on Grehlin levels, which boost appetite, and excessive production stress hormones, which regulates digestion and immune system.

All these negative conditions caused by only a few hours of sleep deficit will surely aggravate your acne. Therefore, if your body were healthy and your body chemistry happy, your skin would be clear. Teenagers should learn and acquire good sleeping habits while still young because acne is not exclusive to teenage skin. So, mothers know best, after all.
