Growing Up Green

More and more parents around the world are deciding to give their child a greener and more environmentally friendly upbringing. This not only helps promote a more sustainable earth, but also helps your baby combat many childhood health problems such as asthma.

Green ToysMany parents have started to opt for the older and more traditional ways to bring up their children, using green materials and designs. Wooden toys used to be popular years ago, but were replaced by the more modern plastic. These beautiful, often handmade toys are just as good, if not better, and will prevent your child breathing in any noxious fumes off the paintwork or spray of the plastic. Washable nappies are becoming increasingly popular again, and will not only save on the amount of nappies we use, but also on tons of money. Consider the amount of money that you spend daily on nappies alone? Washable nappies are easy to use and easy to clean and provide so many benefits that they are hard to resist.

Many parents are choosing to give their baby organic foods which are also healthier for their baby. Changing to organic clothes and bedding is another way to become greener. You may be surprised at how well your baby will take to these items, as there are no residual pesticides on any of the garments. Cotton in general may have residue left on them which could trigger eczema or rash on your babies skin, so natural products are the way to go.
