All parents want their children to do well in school and to achieve good scores in all their subjects. It is so important for a parent to encourage their child and to help them without putting them under too much pressure. Children are typically under enough pressure as it is, and do not need constant reminding.
One of the best things that you can do as a parent is to try and talk to your child and find out if they need any help on particular subjects. Some students are more mathematically minded and they may be finding it hard to cope with literature. If you know of a certain area that your child is struggling with, then try to spend some time going over things with them. Sometimes it may be quite difficult to broach the subject with your child as they may feel pressured by you, so an alternative would be to ask their teachers or maybe a close family friend. Your child may have mentioned something to them and you can then continue to encourage and help them along the way.
Often there is an underlying reason if your child is struggling in school, so try to befriend your child and get them to talk to you. They may have fallen out with one of their teachers, or having problems with some of the other kids in school. Listen to your child and see if there is anything that you can do to help.
